February Newsletter

Brrr it is still cold out! We have a few more weeks before our last frost. Our last average frost is somewhere around March 31st.
This means, we have six to eight weeks to plan for our spring gardening. There are many things you can accomplish in the next six weeks.

1.     Continue to water your trees, shrubs and lawns

2.     Apply Pre-emergence weed control in your lawn and flower beds. This will kill the weed seeds as they start to germinate this spring. Alldredge gardens can help you select the pre-emergence that is right for you.

3.     Continue to trim your trees. winter is the very best time to trim your trees.

4.     Plan your spring plantings.  Alldredge Gardens has the Texas Nursery and Landscape’s Best of Texas plant book. This gives you a detailed list of the Trees, Flowers and shrubs recommended for our area.

5.     Have your mower serviced; you will want to start the mowing season with sharp mowing blades.

Come see us at the Permian basin home and garden show on February 27 and 28.

Our Café is under new management and we will be changing our menu in the next two weeks to a more healthy and weight conscious menu. With more soups, salads, and sandwiches.  Gourmet coffee coming soon.
